Dimora del Campo

We spent three days at this fantastic hotel and had such wonderful support from the lovely hostess, Grazia, Marianna! We’d love to return.

The room was comfortable, with a lovely view of the old city, and the location was great. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the "Suite del Campo," right at the top of Piazza del Sedile. It’s spacious, very clean, and has a lovely view from both the main window at the foot of the bed and the little terrace on the left, where there’s a table and two chairs. The bed is comfortable, and there’s a small desk, coffee table, and armchair as well. The bathroom is generous in size, though the bathtub isn’t very practical. There’s no closet, just an open coat rack. The ducted air conditioning worked perfectly. With the windows shut, evening sounds like music and people chatting were blocked out well, so it was easy to relax. After the long walks around Matera, we’d probably have slept even on rocks! Marianna was very kind. I never met her in person, as everything was arranged ahead of time, but she got in touch the day before and on the day with useful information. The place is in the ZTL, and city parking is under a ten-minute walk away. I’d definitely stay here again if I came back to Matera.

Every time I’m back in Matera, I choose Dimora del Campo. Marianna always greets me so warmly and is incredibly kind. Staying in the suite overlooking the Sassi feels magical. Everything was great.
