Casa Vacanze Da Giusy

We were pleasantly surprised to arrive during the patron saint's day. The owner was so kind and gave us lots of information about getting around the festival and the Sassi. We spent two nights here in early July, and the apartment was cool and comfortable for four people. It’s just a two-minute walk from the Sassi of Matera, and it had reserved parking, which was especially useful. Great value for money too. I’d stay at Casa Vacanze Cosma again if I return to Matera!

The apartment was clean, just right, and better than I expected. Parking on site was very handy. The owners are courteous and helpful, and you can tell they do this work with care and passion. They’re happy to give practical advice too. If I return to Matera, I’ll call Nunzia again. Well done!

The location made everything easy: the apartment is just behind the central square, near the Sassi, with private parking in a limited traffic zone. It’s an excellent place for three people, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The double bedroom is separate from the smaller one, and the exit opens onto the courtyard and parking area, so unloading suitcases is easy. Recently renovated, it has a lovely roof, carefully finished details, and a stylish bathroom. The mattresses are new and comfortable, there are phone charging sockets in handy spots, and the kitchen has what you need for a snack, including a small fridge. The owner also shared tips for making the most of a day in the city.

We stayed one night before going on to Salento, and being able to leave the things we didn’t need in the car was a real help. The private parking spot right in front of the room felt like a luxury. The center is a short walk away, with shops and bars along the way, and it quickly becomes pedestrianized. The Sassi are under a 10-minute walk away. There are several breakfast options close by, and it’s especially convenient for families with children. For the Sassi tour, I’d personally have chosen the Ape tour since it seems easier and more fun for kids.
