The free parking was a big help, especially since it was always available, which is rare. The apartment is equipped with everything you need, and its central spot made it easy to walk to the main sights, supermarkets, and shops. My boyfriend and I drove my car to Matera for a planned three-night stay. On the way, it broke down, and the host helped us figure out where to park. A special thanks to him for that. We had a great time and recommend the place for a quiet visit to Matera. The apartment is a little dated, but that was about it. At certain times the train can be heard, and it’s quite loud, so it may bother light sleepers.

The entrance door could use some fixing, though we had no trouble with it. That’s only my personal suggestion. The owner was very kind and helpful, and the apartment was spotless with all the amenities, including breakfast, water, and milk. It’s close to both the center and the Sassi of Matera.

We felt at home right away at Mamarose. Vittorio and his father Angelo were friendly and professional, always available, and gave us all the information we needed for a great holiday exploring Basilicata. It’s a fantastic region, with so many places to see, traditional foods to try, and, above all, warm-hearted people. A total of 10, highly recommended! The welcoming, beautifully furnished apartment was incredibly clean. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the center of Matera, with all the essential services nearby.

We were about 1.5 km from the center of Matera, and parking was convenient. The apartment was clean and simple, with a kitchen that’s handy if you’d rather stay in for dinner. Shops nearby had excellent products, and there was a small supermarket too.

The Sassi were just a short walk from this spacious house. Parking nearby was free and convenient, and the host was super friendly and helpful. Everything was perfect!
