Casale Delle Piane

The breakfast was generous and varied, served in a lovely garden gazebo just for us, which made it even more enjoyable. Our room was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed, including a little fridge and a coffee maker with pods. The bathroom had a hairdryer and even a fan heater, a rare touch that we really appreciated. The owner was extremely friendly and kind, and made us feel at home right away. We stayed over Easter and were thrilled with the experience. It's a convenient location, a few minutes' drive from the historic center, so you can explore while still having some peace and quiet. Highly recommend this place for the thoughtful details, relaxing stay, and warm welcome.

Breakfast was a highlight: tasty pastries, heavenly black cherry jam, and delicious Matera bread with jam, all served in the gazebo in the well-kept garden. The rooms in this renovated old farmhouse were spacious, splendid, spotless, and carefully maintained, and the bathroom was roomy and very clean too. Covered parking was a real treat. Most of all, Mrs. Bruna's welcome left us speechless. She greeted us in the courtyard with so much warmth, kindness, and helpfulness, then went out of her way to make us comfortable and meet our requests, though there weren't many because everything was already perfect. She also explained the origin and evolution of the Sassi in detail, like an expert guide, and told us how to find the rock churches and reach the Murgia Materana plateau. A couple of friends and I stayed for the weekend, and we'll keep Casale delle Piane and its distinctive, peaceful, family-like atmosphere as a point of reference for the future. Highly recommended. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, it's worth at least double!

The place is quiet and good for resting, and it's convenient for the center. The lady was kind and helpful with information. Our room was spacious, the bathroom was good, and there was a coffee machine with herbal teas. Parking was included. Breakfast wasn't available, though, unless you paid extra.
