Il Giardino Incantato BB

I wouldn't recommend this place. We paid for three people, but the second bed was a fold-out. The bed itself was extremely uncomfortable, with no headboard, and the furniture was old. The sink was broken, and there was no drinking water. They put us in a first-floor room with a private bathroom while the owner lived downstairs and used the kitchen, walking around the house. I won't say more about the kitchen's hygiene. The jacuzzi tub doesn't work, so don't be taken in by it. Breakfast was at a bar, coffee and a croissant for a “discounted” €120, without tax.

We felt right at home thanks to Rossella, who was so thoughtful and attentive throughout our stay. She even went out of her way to arrange guided tours and our New Year's Eve dinner, and helped with all our needs. Her orange mousse at breakfast was delicious, as were the freshly baked cakes. The property is beautifully and elegantly furnished, cared for down to the smallest detail, and spotlessly clean. It's close to the Castle and Sasso Caveoso. A lovely place to stay in the city of Sassi, highly recommended.

The breakfast at the bar was top notch, and the place was clean. Mrs. Rossella was always around and happy to help with our stay, including giving us excellent tips. She also took great care with our two-year-old and gave them a thoughtful welcome. That warm, family feel we'd read about in other reviews was real. Just steps from the Sassi in the city center. From now on, she's Aunt Rossella :)

The suite was luxurious and tastefully done, with its own private garden. It’s only a couple hundred meters from the Sasso Caveoso (drop statue), with Matera’s other attractions easy to reach from there. Rossella and Antonella were wonderful hosts, kind and ready to help with every request. They sorted out a guided Sassi tour, a quaint restaurant for dinner, and convenient parking nearby. A top-notch stay, highly recommended!
