Luciana's place has so much character, and she has such a beautiful soul. It felt like a fairy-tale home, well beyond what I expected from a B & B. I've rarely felt so comfortable somewhere. The room was nicely furnished and had all the comforts we needed. We had a generous, varied breakfast on a little terrace, with Luciana looking after us. From there you can see the rest of the Sasso, which is even more breathtaking in the morning. She also shared plenty of ideas for places to visit and eat, and her love for her homeland made the stay feel especially welcoming. Tucked into the Sasso Caveoso, this little gem was peaceful and strikingly beautiful.

Luciana's breakfasts were fantastic, and she looked after us from the first day through the second, always ready with suggestions for the best places to see. The owner really is the property's greatest asset. Il Sasso e la Seta is ideally placed for exploring the Sassi, and everything was clean and carefully maintained. Our room was comfortable, with a super-comfortable mattress. If I came back to Matera, I'd know where to stay. Thank you, Luciana ❣️
