We came to visit Matera on September 1st and 2nd, and ended up finding the best hotel we could have hoped for. The room was modern, impeccably clean, comfortable, and had the amenities and safety features we wanted. There was also a big selection of food, fruit, and drinks for us. Eustachio checked in with us at least twice a day to see if everything was okay. When we arrived, he first shared details about the city and his family before explaining the room. We now count Eustachio and his wife Benedetta as two new friends. We strongly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.

Right at the entrance to the old town, which was handy. Breakfast is €10 and has everything you'd want. The top room might not be very comfortable, depending on how tall you are.

The rooms were really nice and clean, and breakfast was delicious, with lots of fresh local products. Signore Pipo and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommended!

Lamia still kept our money, over $160 CAD, and refused to refund it after we had to book another hotel. We waited two hours to hear from them, but there was no receptionist to let us in during the 3-6 check-in hours. The lack of hospitality was ridiculous and made the whole thing incredibly stressful. It was the worst part of our trip.
