The rooms are run by the family who own the place, and their warmth and hospitality were beyond what we imagined. Paolo speaks English almost fluently, and Marisa teaches French. They were always happy to share local tips to make our visit to the unique Sassi better. The location is perfect, with an amazing view, and it's easy to reach from the car parks. The owner had reserved a parking spot for us ahead of time and waited to help us walk to the rooms. We also loved having a free espresso machine available around the clock and a beautiful terrace above the rooms, where we enjoyed coffee, ice cream, and wine with a view of Sasso Barisano and the Duomo. They prepare breakfast themselves, buying fresh fruit, pastries, focaccias, and more from local shops each morning. Grazie mille to both of you! Arrivederci!

Ono gave me wonderful dinner and drink recommendations and even helped me find my way from the bus to the hotel. I'm traveling solo, and the top floor bedroom suited me perfectly. The terrace is the best in Matera, and they even leave a complimentary bottle of wine to enjoy there. Marlena's breakfast was the best I've had in Italy, with amazing focaccia that changes every day, fresh fruit, and lots of other things. The location and terrace are gorgeous, and the whole team, Ono, Marlena, and everyone else who makes this stay possible, was amazing. If you're deciding where to stay, look no further and book now!

Marisa and Marilena made us feel truly at home, looking after us with care, efficiency, and discretion. The hospitality was exceptional, and the breakfast had a great choice of both savory and sweet food. The recently renovated property is exquisite, right in the center and just steps from Matera's iconic sights. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. A highly recommended stay.

The Sassi-facing terrace is splendid and open to all guests, and our room was quiet. The property is well maintained and clean. We were greeted so warmly by the host and staff, and breakfast was made with fresh local products. Thanks for a lovely weekend 🥰
