The grounds are charming, with olive trees all around, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, well equipped, and clean. Breakfast was great, with a good range of sweet and savory food. The staff were nice too. The restaurant was good, but probably 20-30% overpriced, and the portions were really small. On our first day we told staff the window shutter was broken and hard to operate, but nobody came to fix it during our stay.

The masseria is beautifully built against the rock, but its setting in an industrial zone was a letdown. Service was the other weak point, with little effort, an unprofessional feel, and some rudeness. Disappointing, and definitely not a four-star experience.

We arrived to a large, air-conditioned room, which was welcome in 36-degree heat. Our flight was three hours late, but the family were still there at 1:30am to greet us, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was nice and full of local produce. It's a fantastic little place, though you'll definitely need a car to explore the area.

Erasmo was our favorite. He knows so much about the area and is so passionate about it. His suggestions were great: we visited Ginosa and Gravina, then went to Altamura and had dinner at the lovely restaurant Calvi. We also had two fantastic dinners at the hotel. The chef is amazing, just as I'd read before arriving. Francesco welcomed us, showed us to our room, and told us about the hotel's history. We had lovely afternoons by the pool, a comfortable room, great music, and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were amazing too. If you get the chance to stay here, it's a treat.
