A really beautiful, comfortable place, right in the middle of the action. I'd recommend booking it.

Shameful. I don't usually post negative reviews, but I've never been treated this badly. The room was hot as soon as we arrived. The air conditioning made a terrible noise when we turned it on, but didn't cool the room. After a couple of hours, we contacted the host about the heat and the A/C not working. The so-called host kicked us out, sending an email through booking saying he'd cancelled our reservation. This was only two hours after check-in. We were out touring Matera and had to rush back, pack up, and find somewhere else to sleep that night. We were a family with children. What a disgrace.

Avoid this place. I picked it because of the good reviews and nice photos, but in my opinion they were all fake. The reality was a nightmare: dirt, a sewer smell, ants, stains on the bedspread and sheets that weren't clean, and air conditioning that seemed from the 19th century. It didn't work and sounded like a tractor in the room. The owner was hostile and uncooperative. A terrible stay. I'm replying to the host's response. Host Mattia, obviously I wasn't the person who left the keys, and obviously I would have written “nice stay.” And if I said the air conditioning sounded like a tractor and didn't work, do you really think I meant December 2024, as you claim, nine months ago? Would I be complaining about turning on the A/C at the end of December? And if I wrote that the owner was hostile and uncooperative, do you think I wouldn't have told you I was unhappy during my stay? Saying “let me know next time” is convenient for you. These are just examples of you making up stories to suit yourself so you don't lose new customers reading these real reviews. If you think you can get away with a made-up or tailored story to deflect the facts, you clearly have no idea how disgustingly you treat your guests. False before, during, and after. I confirm this was a nightmare stay. You haven't responded about the photos, smell, stains, or insects. Those are real photos and a real experience, not made-up claims meant to save yourself in the face of obvious facts. I'm sure people can tell from this exchange who is right. Avoid, people, avoid!

I stayed in an Economy room a few days ago and really liked how clean it was, the self-check-in, the outdoor space, and the breakfast at a nearby café that was included. I needed to leave my bags at the property past check-out, and the owner was very helpful about it. Excellent property, highly recommended.
