The main problem was the price, which felt far too high for what we got. “Breakfast included” meant a few croissants and supermarket jam. There were ants in the bathroom, the oven was broken, and there was no sofa bed. They also make you leave by 11 am at the latest. It wasn’t all bad, but I wouldn’t say it was worth the cost.

There’s parking in the cul-de-sac, and the old town is only a few minutes away on foot. The place has two floors, modern furnishings, and room for up to four people. Breakfast was underwhelming: muesli, individually wrapped croissants, juice, and two cups of coffee per person.

Just a 15-minute walk from the Sassi di Matera, this lovely B&B has been fully renovated in a modern style. There’s a mezzanine with a double bed, plus a separate bedroom, bathroom, and living space with a kitchen and dining area. I’d definitely recommend it.
