Suite Margarita

We ended up leaving at dinner time because we no longer felt at ease there. We’d come as two couples, one of us pregnant and the other travelling with a two-month-old, hoping for a peaceful break. The owner had described the place as an oasis of calm, with an intimate pool shared by our room, two other rooms, and the two elderly owners who live there. The first day was pleasant, and we made friends with the family in the other room. Then, around lunchtime the next day, the owners’ children started arriving with their own kids. They took over the pool, shouting and making a racket. When my friend and I quietly wondered what would happen, the daughter-in-law cut in arrogantly: “The evolution will be that we'll stay half a day.” We kept quiet out of decency. More relatives and friends kept showing up with children, bringing watermelon, soft drinks, and snacks. We learned it was the owners’ wedding anniversary. By then there were over twenty people. We calmly told the owner we were uncomfortable and that, had we been warned, we wouldn’t have booked. A day at a farmhouse pool shared with others costs €15, we said, not the €600 we’d paid for privacy. We only wanted to leave and be refunded for the night we wouldn’t be staying. As soon as I mentioned a refund, the owner began yelling at my pregnant friend. When I asked him to lower his voice, shocked by his behavior, he told me “a pregnant woman shouldn't make mistakes when she speaks.” He got more aggressive as we asked him politely to calm down, then shouted at us to leave. I asked to speak with his wife. She apologized, but said this was just his nature, that he was tired, and that we shouldn’t have complained. The guests left while the owner was away. When he returned, we heard him furiously yelling at his wife that she shouldn’t have let us “rule his house.” We stayed on the property for the rest of the day, but chose to leave that evening. I feel sorry for the kind woman who had to put up with his shouting, but aggression and verbal abuse aren’t acceptable in a civilized society.

A really pleasant stop. The apartment was comfortable and quiet, with excellent bedding. There’s a swimming pool, and free parking right in front of the villa.

The owners are friendly and always available, and the property is clean, welcoming, and comfortable. It’s run professionally, with care for the details. 👍🔝🙋🏻‍♂️

We had a wonderful time here. The owner kindly welcomed us at midnight after a mixup with a nearby B&B, and his wife was friendly and kind too. The property was clean and beautiful, and the pool was top-notch. We’ll definitely return!
