We spent two full days there, and a pool party took over one of them. Loud music went on all day, until 8pm, so enjoying the pool wasn't possible. There is no restaurant on-site, despite what the website says. Their restaurant is 15 minutes away at their other hotel, although their own wine was pretty good. Most of the time the Masseria felt rather lifeless, apart from the pool parties. There were no people on-site, and several buildings were under construction with no workers around. The rooms were okay, but too expensive. These issues made the stay feel as far from an agriturismo experience as it could be. I wonder if the owners have changed recently, because this didn't match the very positive reviews from previous years that led us to book the Masseria. Update: They were sorry and gave us a discount. It doesn't fully make up for the lost day, but it does show they know how to run a good business.

We've come back for the fourth year. There are only four rooms, but there's lots of open space and the best pool we've found. The Adriatic beaches are just 29 minutes away. Amelia and Federica are very friendly. Highly recommend.

Breakfast on the veranda was a highlight, with the Salento morning breeze and excellent cakes. There was a good range of food, and the woman in the kitchen was always happy to help with our requests. Masseria Baronali has attractive, tidy rooms and a big pool set in the quiet open countryside. The entrance drive winds through greenery and those familiar Salento olive trees.
