We were there in April, when Lake Como and Menaggio had few tourists. It was quiet around the site, with a pleasant atmosphere. Our double room had a wonderful lake view and was quite spacious, with old-style decor. The hotel is right on the village's main square, near a few cafes, bars, and a tavern. Hotel La Dependance is managed together with Hotel du Lac, where you check in and out. For breakfast or a light meal, Hotel Du Lac has a bistro about 50 meters away.

The location is hard to beat, and from the window you can see the lake, rooftops, and mountains. There's also a small balcony. The rooms are clean, baby-friendly, and have an elevator and a well-prepared cot. Great value for money. It's not a 5* hotel, but for what it is, you can't ask for more.

I stayed one night. They asked us to leave at 10 am, and since we had a tour booked, we left our bags in the care of the front desk. We picked them up that day at 2:45 pm, then went straight to the Milan airport for our flight. At the airport, while rearranging the suitcase to make it more compact, my daughter noticed several items were missing: eight blouses from Polo Ralph Lauren, Brandy Melville, and Aritzia, all small sizes, worth approximately USD 500 in total. I had helped my daughter pack before we left hotel room number 402, and the items were there. I emailed the hotel to explain what happened but never received a response. More than half the clothes she had brought for the trip were gone while the luggage was in their care.

Great value, and right in the square across from the lake. The room was clean and breakfast was delicious. Parking in town is difficult, so the small indoor garage came in handy. They don't advertise it, but it costs just 12 euros per night.
