Villa Elena

We loved the relaxing lake view and the location, with a 10-15 minute walk down to the lake and the mountain path heading uphill. We went hiking a lot during our long weekend with friends. The Villa was clean and very well equipped, and we didn't miss a thing. Recommended!

The layout wasn't what the listing promised: it said there were three double bedrooms, but there were only two. The third was a children's room with a tiny sofa bed that wasn't suitable for adults. The house was also damp and cold, with a terrible musty smell as soon as we opened the garage and front door. The dishwasher didn't work. There were no blinds on the windows or balconies, even in the bedrooms, and the white blackout curtains let in a lot of light at sunrise. A church next to the villa holds Morning Prayer at dawn, and the sound carries through the village. Its bells also ring every half hour and hour, so we were forced awake. I stayed two nights and three days, but wouldn't go back. It was a real nightmare.

That fantastic view was part of what made our week's holiday so lovely. The villa is spacious and comfortably furnished, and we felt at home right away.
