Castel Rundegg brings together history, quiet and heartfelt hospitality. Laura and David made our stay memorable, and we were already thinking about coming back as we left. They seemed to anticipate what we needed, and added thoughtful little touches without ever being intrusive. They were attentive, kind and around when we needed them. Their passion for the property shows in the care they put into everything, and the whole team was amazing. I wish I knew everyone’s names. Thank you, Laura and David, for such a special stay!

The restaurant was so good that we never even considered dining elsewhere. We spent three nights in the tower room, which was quite a bit larger than the photos suggested, and the whole visit was amazing. The team made us feel like cherished family and gave us the most personal resort experience we’ve had. The grounds were pristine and peaceful, and the spa, pools and fitness room were all exquisite. We loved the old-world comfort and felt at home right away, wrapped up in a bubble of relaxation. The historic river promenade is a short walk away, and the other guests were interesting and friendly. We’ll definitely return.

We’re looking forward to coming back as soon as we can. Schloss Rundegg feels refreshingly unlike the sterile, corporate hotels that all seem the same. David and his staff were incredibly helpful, offering recommendations and doing what they could to make our time in Merano relaxing. The food and drinks were excellent, and the spa was a great place to unwind. It’s a beautiful, well-kept historic castle, set in a stunning garden with a pool and mountain views. David’s team takes great care with the details throughout the guest experience.

The dining hall’s historic interior made the excellent breakfast and dinner even more special. There’s a lovely outdoor pool, plus an indoor one for when the weather turns bad. The hotel is close to the center, but far enough from the old town’s steady foot traffic to stay peaceful. A beautiful historic place, with fantastic views and exceptionally courteous staff.

The staff and the food were both top notch. We spent five unforgettable days at Rundegg, easily the best hotel experience we’ve ever had, and we’re already making plans to return.
