Holiday House Merano - Terme

One of my favorite hotels. I love the location, spa area, and breakfast. Free bicycle rental, and access to Terme Merano.

The corridors on the guest floors were the worst part for me: 0 out of 10, since they felt updated, smelled bad, and weren't especially clean. The rooms scored 8, the spa also 8, and general cleanliness 7. Staff courtesy gets a 7. They were welcoming and professional, though that was about it; the natural courtesy of the Italian staff balanced some attitudes from the Austrian minority staff. Breakfast was suitable, but not outstanding, so 7. For value, I'd give it just 1 out of 10 because it was largely overpriced. My overall score is 7 out of 10.

HTM sits right in the heart of Meran, a marvelous city, with nature reachable by a 25 min hike along Passer. Inside, the rooms are beautiful and the service was exquisite everywhere we dealt with it, from reception and bar to restaurant and spa. The spa area is one of the best I know. A fantastic, luxurious hotel.

We had a great stay, and the location made it easy to get to shops, restaurants, and park areas. This was one of our favorite hotels or resorts on our trip through northern Italy. The lighting inside on the main floor and outside was lovely, and the rooftop spa and pool were wonderful.
