Martin and his family are wonderful hosts. The rooms are beautifully furnished, and there’s a full library. If the weather turns, I’d recommend sitting out in the sunroom. Breakfast in the beautiful garden was a highlight, as was the communal dinner, if you happen to be there on a night it’s held. The young chef was fantastic and put real thought into using a range of local produce. I’ll be back!

The garden made breakfast feel especially peaceful, and we really enjoyed the calm atmosphere at this charming B&B. Service had a few small wobbles: dishes didn’t always arrive in the same order, with some tables getting the savory course before the yogurt and others the reverse. Two young women served us, and one had started that very morning. We understood they were learning and appreciated their efforts, so it didn’t take much away from our stay. We had a thoroughly good time, and hope the service gets more consistent as the staff gain experience.

We loved the garden and the delicious breakfast, and the afternoon lemonade with little dishes is worth trying. The place has so many special little details. It’s close to the city but wonderfully quiet, away from the tourist stream. Our host suggested great restaurants and booked all our tables for us.

The Tappeiner Promenade overlooks Merano and links up with trails around the region, and the hearty breakfast gave us just the energy we needed to walk it. Each morning we had a wonderful three-course breakfast shaped by the season and local area. This may have been my favorite stay of our honeymoon. The place brings together elegance, culture, and the personal style of a family who clearly love what they do. The art and history around the area were lovely, and being nestled in the Dolomites was extraordinary. I’d love to come back.
