B&B La Mezza Luna

The owner was kind, and by car you can get easily to both the city centre and the beach. The location may not be the best, though, and the B&B could use more attention to detail, some renovations, and new decor. Breakfast is included in the price, but you have to go to a café elsewhere to get it.

I wasn’t very satisfied with my stay overall. The place was very clean, and the owner was welcoming, but in some ways he was overly fussy and stingy. During an exceptional heatwave of 43C°, he didn’t want me to leave the air conditioner on when I went out for a few hours. The vouchers for breakfast at the nearby pastry shop were only worth €2,00, enough for a croissant and a coffee. I was also asked to pay another €5,00 per day to park the car. The parking spot was actually the courtyard of an abandoned building next to the one with the b&b. There was no card terminal, so I had to withdraw cash from a bank where I don’t have an account and was charged extra for the transaction. Some details need improving.

The owner, Mr. Vincenzo, was friendly and helpful, both with the hospitality and with his excellent knowledge of Messina and Sicily’s attractions. The rooms were welcoming, and the cleanliness was excellent.

The room had been renovated and was clean and pleasant, with everything we needed: a small fridge, air conditioning, microwave, and a private bathroom. The owner was kind and helpful. Parking is private and costs €5. The only downside for me was the area, which isn't particularly nice.
