Caio Duilio B&B

A simple room at a great budget price. There’s a shared area with coffee, tea, and a refrigerator, and you can walk from the train station or passenger ferry. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the sheets were good quality.

Great value, worth every cent. The location was excellent, and the room and facility were immaculately clean. The host and staff were super nice and very helpful.

Carmelo's warmth and generosity made it a pleasure to meet him and stay here. His local tips for historic landmarks within easy walking distance were invaluable, and he was available whenever we needed information. We found Messina a fascinating, bustling port city and would absolutely stay at Caio Dulio again. The guesthouse is in Messina's old quarter, a short walk from the train and bus stations, shops, a laundry, and local bars and restaurants. We drove from Porto Santo Stefano and took the Caronte Tourist car ferry from Villa San Giovanni. The crossing was short, smooth, and efficient, and the place was easy to find. There’s on-street parking or a parking facility nearby. Rather than drive, we walked to the train station and took the local bus to Taormina for the day. The interior is new. Our room was very clean, with an excellent shower, a comfortable bed and pillows, and quality linen. Carmelo served a wonderful breakfast, and coffee and tea were available without limit in the open-access kitchen on the same floor, just off the rooms. The Wi-Fi was excellent too. Carmelo is a gracious, thoughtful host, and his attention to detail across the B&B was second to none. Of all the places I've visited in Italy, this was my favourite host stay. We couldn't fault the property.

The location was really good, and our host was great. Breakfast at the cafe was lovely, though it took a little while to communicate what we wanted since the choices weren’t written down.
