We'd booked one night in Messina but ended up staying five. Our first room had a small issue for us, though there was nothing wrong with the room itself, and reception quickly found us one that suited us better. The staff were welcoming and polite, and the location worked perfectly for us as travellers using trains and boats. Breakfast was good, fresh, and delicious. The hotel was impeccably clean, with housekeeping that was efficient and flexible. Mr Arnarson and I highly recommend it to other travellers.

It's close to the train station, and the room was clean and nice. The water pressure was good, the AC worked great, and the staff were friendly. I'd stay here again, 10/10.

We were there for just one night. It's handy for the train station, a main square, and at least one of the ferry harbours. The hotel has a bit of an 80s vintage feel and could use a refresh, though it still seems to be in decent shape.

10/10
Our suite was roomy, modern, clean, and quiet, with good air conditioning, a comfortable bed, and quality linens. The hotel is run well, the staff are lovely, and breakfast was great. It’s an easy walk to the station and close to the duomo and main piazza. I’d happily recommend the Royal Palace hotel.

The towels were so thin, and the hallway carpets looked dusty and felt dirty. The place is close to the train station, but it’s very dated, with dark wood throughout, old furniture and pictures. I wouldn’t stay here again.
