Best Western Hotel Tritone

Being allowed into our room straight away when we arrived around 11am was a huge help after travelling. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful the whole time. The hotel is right by Mestre station, and parking opposite costs €14 a day, which seemed good value to us, especially after paying twice as much elsewhere. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was fine and the children really liked it, though we would have liked more variety, even something simple like baked beans. There also weren't really shared areas to relax or socialise, or wellness facilities such as a sauna or pool, which would have been nice in the evenings. It's a great-value, well-located hotel with excellent staff and generous rooms. Those few missing extras kept it from feeling like a full five-star experience for us.

Camilla went the extra mile when I told her we would arrive very early, arranging a lovely room with a baby cot and some toys. Everything was provided and we felt at home. The hotel was nice and clean, with the train and bus stations very close. Breakfast was amazing, and the other facilities were good too. Staff on both the day and night shifts were knowledgeable and gave us useful information about cities and trains. I recommend it for a calm, comfortable stay.

There’s no outdoor seating area, and reception looks dated, but the stay was good overall. The rooms are fine, though there’s only a hanging rail and no wardrobe. Breakfast was good. The staff were helpful and friendly, and spoke good English. Venice centre is about 45 minutes away, with the train and bus across the road.

Following a friend's suggestion, we stayed in Mestre on the mainland rather than on Venice's island at Venezia Santa Lucia. It was much easier to arrive in Mestre and leave our luggage there than to carry it up and down stairs on the island. Getting between Mestre and Santa Lucia was convenient, about 10-20 minutes by Bus Route 2 or train from the Best Western hotel. The Best Western is newer and more spacious, the staff were very helpful with all our questions, and breakfast had plenty of variety.
