Palazzo Maresca

We booked the main room and liked it. It was comfortable, though the bathroom was small. Sorrento was only a short bus ride away, so the location worked out fine. The staff were sweet, but communication was hard and they weren't much help when we needed it. Service felt pretty inefficient.

The staff were lovely and quick to help, whether we needed dinner suggestions or even a bottle opener late at night. Our room was spacious, clean, and cozy, with air conditioning, a TV, a work table, fridge, sofa, extra pillows and blankets, and a balcony with table and chairs. The street can be noisy, but closing the window made it quiet. There's a rooftop entrance where you can sunbathe, shower, or have a little wine in the evening. The place is close to the sea, shops, and restaurants. It has the look of a palace, with lots of art and antiques, including things like an old compass. For the price, it was the best place we stayed in Italy this time. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The bathroom was in terrible shape: the shower cabin and faucet were broken, there was pubic hair and feces on the toilet and seat, mold around the shower drain, and the towels were old, torn, and stained. The property looked nothing like its photos. The person who greeted us seemed keen to hand over the key and leave as quickly as possible. We complained and asked for our money back, but were refused. This place is a scam, avoid it.

The location was nice and the room was clean enough, but I don't think it was worth the price. The staff were rarely around and weren't helpful, breakfast was only packaged sweets, and the elevator kept getting stuck. I've stayed in much nicer places for the same money or less.
