There’s lots of parking, so it works well for groups meeting up, though it’s best to book a weekend table. The premises are spotless and looked after, and the location makes this family-run hotel a good base for exploring nearby attractions. The staff are warm and accommodating, and the home-style meals make it a lovely lunch stop on the way to the mountains. A little gem among the Dolomites and local villages, thoroughly recommended.

The restaurant is well worth trying. The food and service were great, and I especially loved the pasta, one of the best I had in the region. Albergo Sorive is an easy 20-minute walk from both Mezzano and Fiera di Primiero, so it’s peaceful while still close to local attractions, with beautiful mountains all around. I stayed for three and a half weeks and felt at home from the moment I arrived. Rodolfo, the kind and attentive host, and his family clearly take pride in making guests feel welcome. I’d happily recommend Albergo Sorive for a getaway in this part of the world.

Rodolfo came in early on my last morning to make me coffee before my ride to the airport. I got a little teary when it was time to hug goodbye. That kindness says a lot about the warm, welcoming stay I had, and if I ever return to the region, I’ll stay at Albergo Sorive again. The location is great for walking to nearby attractions. There’s a path along the lively river and fresh mountain water at the fountains. Ask for a balcony room if you can, the view is heavenly. My room was clean, with fresh towels, free WiFi and parking. The family-run place is at the foot of one of Mezzano’s mountains, and Rodolfo, a young father, does all he can to make you feel like family. He’s always darting between tables to check if you need anything and has answers to your questions. Breakfast is wonderful, and both lunch and dinner are delicious. Early in the morning, I’d sit in the garden and watch mist rise around the snowy peaks while Mama swept and watered the flowers.

I kept coming back to Albergo Sorive during my month in the Primiero Valley because of Rodolfo’s service and cooking. He greeted me by name every time and made guests feel like family. His home-cooked meals were the best I had in Italy, and the daily menu changed, so there was always something new to try. I’d recommend the hotel and restaurant to anyone traveling through the valley.
