Hotel Ares

There’s a sweet little white cat 🐈 who greets guests, and the service was excellent. The hotel is also close to the metro, a supermarket, and several restaurants. But the room on the top floor had a strong sewage smell, as other reviews have mentioned. I had to keep airing it out, which was tough in cold, rainy winter weather. Thanks for your hospitality all the same.

I’d recommend this place to people exploring Milan. It’s near a metro station, though the hotel itself isn’t very central, and the bed was a little hard with somewhat thin blankets. Breakfast was mostly the usual bread, a bit hard, but the rest was good. The room was small, which didn’t bother us since we only slept there. There’s also a cute little cat that sometimes tries to come into your room and likes being stroked. The hotel is nice overall, especially if you’re out seeing the city rather than spending time in the room.

My husband accidentally booked for one person instead of two. He asked to change it right away, but the hotel wouldn’t help, even though there were rooms available, and we couldn’t amend the booking for two. We contacted booking.com, but the hotel didn’t respond to them either. We lost our money. I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

A good place to stay if you’ll be out exploring. The hotel has the facilities I needed and the rooms were clean. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good at 7 Euro. It’s close to both the bus station and a metro stop, which worked well for my time in Milano.
