B&B Residenza Paradiso

Crazy experience. I booked three nights for a business trip. Check-in was supposed to be by 7 p.m., and when work issues made me late, I emailed to let them know. They read it but said nothing. I got there around 8:10 p.m. and the door was locked. I tried every number I had, and they hung up on me about 15 times before answering. After half an hour of calling, I got an annoyed email saying they weren't available after 7, though I'd told them I was delayed and they'd never replied. They cancelled the whole three-day booking and kept the €400 I'd paid, for a shabby room with a shared bathroom. The booking staff told me they couldn't get through to the property either. The property only responded when my girlfriend tried a different number. I found another hotel, but without that option and with no cash, I could have been stuck on the streets of Milan all weekend. At the work event I heard other people had also been left without a place to stay or money. If your train runs late, you may be stranded without a refund, and they won't even answer the phone.

The B&B photos on Booking.com seem to show a different property, about 500 meters away. I wonder if that's even legal. This is misleading, deceptive advertising. A terrible rating from me. Crazy!

They won't allow check-in after 7 p.m., even when you've warned them you'll be late. If you arrive late, they cancel the full reservation without contacting you and keep the payment for the whole stay.

There's no one at reception and they don't answer the phone. Even after being notified the day before, they refused check-in after 7 p.m., cancelled the entire reservation, and kept the payment we'd made in advance. The dishonesty is incredible. A total scam.
