Bb Hotels Smarthotel Duomo

The hotel was very good and everything seemed excellent until checkout. Checkout was at 11:00 AM. I had packed my things and left cash and my passport in the room safe. I was outside and heading back when they called to tell me it was checkout time. I said I was already on my way and ready to leave, and they could bring my luggage downstairs. A few minutes later, I called reception to say I needed to collect the cash and passport from the safe. They said it had already been opened and told me to come get my things at reception. When I arrived a few minutes later, 50 euros were missing. I reported it, and was told, “I do not suspect the staff.” They weren’t cooperative and didn’t handle it professionally. If the hotel says it doesn’t doubt its staff, then nobody should open a guest’s safe while they’re away. That’s completely unacceptable. I’m 100% certain how much money was in there, and what happened should be considered theft. Be extremely careful with your belongings and money, even in the safe.

The reception team was nice and helpful, and the hotel is right in the heart of Milano, only a three-minute walk from Duomo. The subway is just around the corner too. Parking is the painful part, at 40€/night 🥶🥶🥶

Tea, coffee, and water in the room were complimentary, and for the money the service was great. The hotel is very close to the center. They have an arrangement with a car park about a five-minute walk away. We had to leave our car key there, but everything went fine. It was a bit noisy inside, with doors closing all over the place, and the balcony door lock in our room didn’t work. Still, it’s a great place to stay in the center of the city.

The rooms are clean, and the service is brilliant, especially breakfast. It looks like a small spread, but everything you need is there, fresh and tasty. The location is perfect, just a three-minute walk from Duomo. The only drawback is that the room is a little small, though it won’t bother you if you’re out most of the day.
