There’s no Wi-Fi, so avoid this place if you need it. The signal apparently can’t reach all the rooms, and this isn’t a one-off problem. It’s a cheap place for a night, so my expectations were low. The location is pretty good, about a 10-minute walk from a bus stop, and from there you can reach the train station in under 30 minutes. The room was basic, just a bed and bathroom, and clean, but the furniture was old and poorly maintained. You also can’t freely adjust the temperature, which made the stay uncomfortable. No Wi-Fi is the main reason for the 1 star.

On the second and final day of my stay, the room access system had technical problems. I returned at 11PM to find the door card reader had no power, and some other rooms were affected too. BellaMI is entirely unattended, with contactless check-in and check-out, and there was no one to contact from 6PM until the next morning. There was no emergency number. The result was that other guests and I were locked out of our rooms at night, with no one to reach. I booked through Booking, but they could only email the property. I ended up calling the emergency services. The Italian firefighters, the Vigili del Fuoco, helped us get into our rooms. A big thank you to them. I finally got back into mine around 2AM. I don’t recommend this place.

The location was the only positive. We stayed two nights and had a lot of problems. I put the room-cleaning sign on the door, but they never changed the towels. On the second day there was just one shampoo, not enough for two people, so I bought another at the supermarket. The air conditioning also didn’t work, and I wonder how that would be in hotter weather. Before check-in, they replied to messages right away, even at night. After checkout, when we tried to contact them about problems, they didn’t respond. The room was too expensive for the poor cleaning service and communication. I’m glad I checked twice before leaving so I wouldn’t forget anything, because I don’t think they would have replied if I’d needed to get something back.

“If you lock yourself out at night WE CAN'T HELP,” is what they told us. If the building loses power while you’re out at night, you could end up sleeping on the street. And if you lose your card, it’s the same story. There’s no backup plan when anything goes wrong, and no one you can call around the clock. I really don’t recommend taking that risk.
