Best Western Hotel City — Milano Centro Hotel

The team are very helpful, and breakfast is excellent. I’ve come back several times over the past few years. It’s also handy for Milan Centrale and close to some good restaurants.

For a work trip, this place was faultless. The staff were all friendly and efficient, and breakfast was nice, though there wasn’t a huge selection. I had a surprisingly spacious, very clean room at the front on Floor 1. I could hear the Metro rumbling and some street noise, but it didn’t bother me. There’s no bar in the hotel, which is a shame, although there are good bars on the same street. The free minibar was a nice touch. The entrance is tucked off a small arcade, so I walked past it at first. It’s 100m from Lima Metro Station on Line 1, with an easy connection from Linate Airport on Line 4. I stayed one night for business.

The AC didn’t work, and the hallway was colder than my room. When they offered to move me, the other room was on a loud floor. It was ridiculous, and I’d have gone to another hotel if it hadn’t been so late. The only discount they offered was to remove the city tax. Nothing else. Don’t waste your money staying here.

The room was a little warm, but surprisingly not too noisy for a place beside the street. I stayed three nights and had a good experience. The location worked well, a few meters from the metro and around a 15-minute walk from Milano Centrale. Staff and receptionists were friendly and accommodating, and the place was cleaned regularly. It had the basic amenities, with complimentary drinks and water in the fridge.
