Best Western Hotel Madison

We came from Venice by train, took the train to St. Moritz and back, then left for Florence by train, so being just minutes from the station worked really well for us. The staff were courteous and even helped us get a cab to il Duomo. The rooms were comfortable, with large king-sized beds and coffee makers, and the breakfasts were excellent. Rooms aren’t as large as most American hotel rooms, but they’re bigger than many European ones. We also had a buffet lunch for 13 euros each, with a very good spread and some vegetarian choices. Very good hotel.

I asked for an umbrella on a rainy Friday. At the front desk, Ewa rolled her eyes and said the rain wasn’t too heavy. During my many nights at the Hotel, none of the front desk staff met service standards. I’m left wondering how the Hotel got its 4 star rating.

The hotel is near milan centrale and sindrio station. The rooms were clean and nice, the staff provided excellent service, and breakfast was great and delicious.

The location near the train station is great, and the room was clean and just as advertised. I booked because the listing said there was air conditioning. I sleep very hot and need a fan or some airflow, but I found out that this doesn’t mean cool air is available all the time. Apparently Italy only allows thermostats to control heat in fall and winter. Even if there’s a cool setting, it only warms the room instead of cooling it. I learned my lesson and should have called ahead. I could open the window, but in the morning the street noise meant I had to close it.
