Hotel Brunelleschi

The decor was so strange that it gave us plenty to laugh about. The styles and decorative bits seemed random, and even practical things were awkward, like drawers that only opened a few inches before hitting the doorframe and drapes that didn't fit. Still, it’s easy to get around on foot from here. Breakfast had a good range, and the staff were pleasant. The front desk recognized us and gave helpful advice. It just didn't feel quite like what you'd expect from a four-star hotel.

The room was very spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s only about a five-minute walk to Duomo, which made the location perfect for me. I did find breakfast a little uncomfortable: there were ten waiters, and they hovered so close while we ate that it felt like we were being pushed to finish. Even so, I had a very good stay and would return to Brunellescchi when I visit Milan.

Good value in a prime spot, with a clean, quiet and comfortable room. The full breakfast and minibar were included, too. My one gripe is the dated 1980s postmodern decor. If they brought back the original 1960s midcentury modern look, I'd give it five stars.

Most of the tourist spots are within walking distance, which is a real plus. The whole stay felt warm and easy, from the welcoming atmosphere to the spotless, comfortable room, and the staff were kind and seemed genuinely happy to help. I’d gladly come back. It was a really lovely experience from beginning to end, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well cared for stay.
