I was traveling on my own, and the hotel’s location was great, close to the train station. It also had all the amenities I needed. But the walls were so thin I could hear the other guests all night, which made sleep difficult. I also felt a bit nervous as a solo female traveler because there was no way to lock the door from the inside.

I was in Milan for work, and my clients had booked this hotel for me. At reception, they refused to accept the government-issued driving licence I’ve used to check into hotels across Europe for 20 years. They muttered something about needing to register at a police station. It was bizarre, and I had to find another nearby hotel. The interaction was rude and wasted my time. I’m writing this from that other hotel. Like the other hotels I’ve stayed at in Italy and Europe, they accepted my ID. After reading the response below, I’m even more surprised that the hotel seems less familiar with this than I am. Not a good sign.

The hotel was reasonably priced for Milan and worked out fine for a few days. We found coffee and croissants at the nearby train station since there’s no breakfast here. The Duomo and Galleria are an easy walk, and we had one of the best anchovy pizzas we’ve ever eaten there. Credit and debit cards are accepted. My identical twin brother and I arrived by train from Venice and took a taxi to Cadorna Luxury Hotel. After using the buzzer at the street entrance, we went through the heavy door and took an old lift with double sliding doors. Reception was welcoming, checked that our reservation was paid, and gave us card keys. Check-in was quick, followed by a walk down a long, plain corridor. Our room was clean and quiet, with two comfortable beds and pillows, a mini-fridge, and a window facing the street. The bathroom was modern and roomy, with towels, soap, shampoo, and enough hot water. The air conditioning wasn’t working, and reception said cooling gets switched off at the end of September. Anything you take from the mini-fridge costs extra at checkout. We bought a bottle of wine nearby, and it barely fit inside. This doesn’t really feel like a hotel, and “luxury” seems an odd description. It’s more like a dozen rooms added to a renovated upper floor. The reception desk closes around midnight, and there’s no room service. The old elevator worked throughout our three nights, though I did see a review saying it had broken and someone had to carry a heavy suitcase down several floors.

I wouldn’t choose it for a whole week, but for 1-3 days, absolutely. It’s a bit rough around the edges, the elevator feels sketchy, though I rode it plenty of times and it was fine. The place is clean and good for the price. I walked to the doumo, explored the area, and had a train out of cadorna in the morning. Honestly, I’m surprised Google gives it 1 star. I’ve stayed in much worse 3-star places. A little hidden gem for travelers moving around.

The room was one of the best we had on the trip, with lots of space and a huge shower. It’s modern and recently updated, though we never worked out the AC or the DND panel. Pillows were a little thin, and there was just one each, so you might want a spare. The hotel also seemed eco-friendly, and its central spot is handy for the train station and many attractions. A wonderful, convenient stay. I’d definitely recommend it.
