De Amicis

The station is a handy connection point in the middle of the Navigli Canal District, with tram 2 and 14 links that make it easier to get around the city. Its construction also brought an interesting historical find to light: a wall that was probably part of the north bank of the Naviglio di San Girolamo.

The De Amicis stop is on the blue M4 line, between Linate and San Cristoforo 🔵. With metro, trams 🚊 and buses 🚍, you can get almost anywhere in Milan in just under an hour. The service is fast, efficient, and affordable, the staff are efficient, and the stations and stops are kept in excellent shape. Timetables are updated regularly too. One of Europe’s best metro systems, highly recommended 💯

The blue line has no pass activation totems at any of its stops. That’s the biggest problem. The metro itself is really fast, but something is always going wrong with the turnstiles or the elevator.

Thanks to M4 for getting back to me so quickly about my earlier review. I’d pointed out that the newly opened areas outside the De Amicis entrances at numbers 26, 28 and 30 needed trash bins. The flowerbeds (!?) were already collecting cigarette ends, lunch wrappers and food scraps. People clearly weren’t being considerate, but bins could help keep the place tidier.
