Garden Hotel

The staff were very friendly, and the hotel is close to the bus station, with the center nearby. Still, the stay was a big disappointment. The room was very cold, and there was no air conditioner remote until we asked reception for one. The minibar was locked. Hygiene was poor: the maid cleaned but didn't change the sheets, and I got red spots and allergies all over my body. There was no cover on the blanket, and it irritated my skin. We barely had hot water. A dog barked all night on the floor above, and someone was running around and making noise day and night.

We missed the day because of a delayed flight, a transport strike, and our inability to call the hotel, so we decided not to make a fuss. I asked for a small refund, just for the service we didn't receive, not the unused room. It was probably worth about $1 after the rude, arrogant reply we got. Bad luck, things happen. We found another hotel near the metro stop where we were stuck. Courtesy and politeness beforehand should be standard from a hotel representative. Only those who show it after taking customers' money deserve five stars, so this hotel gets one at most.

The breakfast wasn't very good, but I could overlook that. I gave it five stars for the roomy accommodation, location, and free hotel parking. The tram stop is just around the corner, and it takes you into the city center.

The thin walls were the big problem. On both nights someone arrived late, and one night several people talked for the whole evening. You could hear everything, so 2/5 for that. The location was just okay, with enough restaurants nearby; tram 24 gets you to Duomo, though it's too far for many to walk, 3/5. The shower seemed new and recently renovated, 5/5. There's parking in the courtyard, also 5/5. My room did have a minibar, and it wasn't locked, despite what some people said.
