Hotel Alba

We booked just a day ahead and got a lot for a low price. The room had what we needed, with three beds, a closet, shower and sink. The toilets were outside the room, but the shared one was really clean. It was close to the centre, and the receptionist was incredibly sweet and friendly. He explained everything clearly and made us feel welcome. A great stay all around.

I’d look for a different hotel. Friends of mine were robbed of everything there, including phones, wallets, cosmetics and clothes, and were left in another country with only what they had on them that day. The hotel staff showed little interest, and their honesty leaves a lot to be desired. Oddly, the camera monitoring the door to their room was switched off at the time. They booked through booking, which also refuses to handle compensation. I don’t think this hotel keeps its guests safe.

There are plenty of restaurants and transport options nearby, and you can walk to many interesting parts of the city. Hotel Alba is on the second floor and there’s no elevator, but the area felt safe.

I’ve never complained about a hotel before, but this was the worst stay I’ve had. It was cold in Milan, yet they wouldn’t turn on the heating or give us anything to warm the room. At night it was 5 degrees inside. I’d have had a better night in a tent with a good sleeping bag than spending 80 euros on a dirty, bad room. The owner didn’t care and was happy I’d already paid, so there was nothing I could do. The service was poor. Don’t stay here, there are better places in Milan.
