Bernina Hotel

For a short visit, this place works well. The rooms are old but clean enough, and the location is handy if you’re hauling big bags: Milan Centrale is very close, with the metro just a few steps from the entrance.

The lobby was so cute, and the location made it easy to get to the train station, cafes, and plenty of good restaurants. I loved my two-day stay during the Olympics. My room was small but clean and quiet, and both the front desk and breakfast staff were helpful.

The location is great and the rooms are pretty decent. Some of the front desk guys were super friendly, though one promised to return our change after we paid the city tax and never did. Breakfast was stressful. The woman who runs it puts in a lot of effort, but she seems very particular about keeping everything set up her way. When I went in for water after a friendly front desk man told me to, she got angry, startled me so I spilled some, then yelled at me for spilling it. I’d rather avoid the dining area than have to deal with her.

There was maintenance or construction work starting at eight in the morning, the room was tiny, and the TV had no internet. I called the front desk three times at 3 p.m. and no one picked up. This barely deserves two stars. Would not recommend.
