Terminal Hotel

We stayed one night after returning from Switzerland, since the hotel was within walking distance of the central station and we were heading to Paris on September 4. The receptionist was nice, and the location worked for what we needed. The furniture and colors gave the hotel a slightly odd feel.

The location worked well for my usual business trips to Milan, but the hotel was untidy. The furniture felt shabby and a bit trashy, the fridge didn’t work, the AC was very loud, and the bathroom was moldy. The single bed was coffin-sized, and the TV was smaller than my laptop. Now I know where not to stay.

The room was spacious and clean, though the hotel and its furniture are very dated. It’s on a noisy street, and you can hear the trains, so sleeping with the window open isn’t really an option. The air conditioning didn’t cool the room either. Breakfast was very basic. There are plenty of hotels even closer to the station, and I’d look at one of those next time. Still, this seemed in line with the price and two-star rating.

I had a nice two-night stay in a private room, and the receptionist was very helpful. The building is old, but Milan Central Station is only a ten-minute walk away. Good value if you want to stay near Milan Centrale Station.
