House of Frames

We only gave it two stars because it was clean. The owner lives in the apartment with guests and smokes. My friend and I ran into problems even before check-in, and later the host went through our rubbish after we’d taken it out. Their own things were also left in the bathroom and shower, and they had very little patience when we asked questions. We would have left if we’d been able to afford another place.

The host was so, so kind and clearly cares about the place and the people staying there. I was in Milan for work and got exactly what I needed: somewhere that felt like home. The house is lovely and clean, the bed was really comfortable, and it was quiet enough to sleep well before another long day dealing with Milan’s sauvage climate. I really enjoyed my stay and recommend it for a work trip.

We had a lovely time and would come back. Reka was warm and helpful, and the rooms were spacious and beautiful. Breakfast was simple, but tasty. Just be aware that the guesthouse has two rooms plus the owner, so the bathroom is shared. It’s also upstairs, which makes it unsuitable for wheelchair users or anyone with mobility difficulties.

Reka made me feel at home during my two nights here. She gave me tips on places to visit, and the apartment was super clean. There are lots of excellent local restaurants nearby, and the Duomo is just five metro stops away.
