Igiban Hotel

The room wasn’t very clean, and the fridge was dirty too. We couldn’t find coffee, sugar or a kettle in the room. When we asked, the Chinese assistant was helpful and got us a water kettle.

I’ve never had a bad hotel experience before this. We stayed only 15 minutes after checking in, then left to find somewhere else. The walls had big cobwebs, food stains and a damp-looking patch that was turning black. Wallpaper was torn and hanging off. The bathroom and shower looked like they were from the 70s, and the beds seemed like rough wooden boxes with mattresses on top. I know this isn’t a five-star hotel, but they should take some pride in the place and keep it clean. When I said I was leaving and complained, they just said OK, so I’m guessing this happens a lot. It was the fastest check-in and check-out I’ve ever had.

The location is a bit far from the centrum, but there’s a metro nearby. The rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh sheets and towels, and the service and air conditioning were good. Staff spoke English. We’ll stay here again when we’re in Milan. The one issue is that they don’t seem to understand the “do not disturb” sign on the door :(

The room was good, but I’d avoid the first floor. At night you can hear utensils being washed and people chatting or shouting. There’s no parking for four-wheelers. We asked for a water kettle, and this is how we got.
