We spent three hours unable to get into the hotel. Check-in had no staff in person, and finding the key felt like a scavenger hunt. Entry required scanning a QR code, but first we had to submit a pile of information, including our passports and tourist tax. We emailed the hotel within half an hour of being locked out and got no useful help. After three hours, they sent us to another location, where we eventually got into a room. The room Expedia moved us to was infested with bugs. There were cockroaches in the bed and bugs all over the shower. The water wouldn't stay hot, and the water heater was so noisy that we couldn't sleep. Italian way apartments/hotels offered no compensation for any of it. The nice location and photos are misleading. I never even got to see what the inside of our original hotel room looked like.

I couldn't get into the apartment while standing outside the door, and there was no one to help. The website said the door was open, so I went to the nearby hotel.
