We left right away and found somewhere else to stay. I've never done that in all my years of booking places. When I asked for a full refund, they refused. They also said they wouldn't act on my complaint because I hadn't taken photos, even though the booking terms never mentioned that requirement. At Joivy Spadari, the cleaner was still in the room when we arrived. That was a bad sign, and the place was filthy. While we waited outside, the doorman came upstairs and used the guest bathroom, then didn't wash his hands. Disgusting. The room didn't have local TV stations. A coffee machine was perched precariously on a wobbly bedside table, and the cleanliness and condition were nowhere near the advertised standard. We booked expecting a comfortable stay, but it was the worst hotel experience I've had, despite travelling often. Unhygienic, unprofessional, and awful customer service. Avoid Joivy Spadari. I'll post this on other platforms too, and hope it keeps someone else from wasting their money.

The rooms got so hot that we eventually left that night. The air conditioning wouldn't work after the power came back, and we were told it couldn't be reset that day. The outage affected only our room and our friends' room, and restoring the power took four hours. We had no check-in email. A kind cleaner helped us, otherwise there was nobody around, and the email finally arrived 24 hours after check-in. It took nearly 90 minutes to get checked in as well. Apart from the cleaner, we got very little help. The whole thing was a nightmare, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

The room and location were great, but communication was really poor and customer service wasn't good.

The location seems good at first. Both the room door and the building entrance open through a link sent by email. After 8 PM, the building door locks and you need to use that link to get in. The picture shows which button is for the room and which is for the building.

The price and location made for a good stay. The apartment is very close to the city center, spotlessly clean, and has a partial view of the cathedral. The Duomo area is lively and lovely in the evening, and the air conditioning works really well. There's no microwave, though.
