The building looks nice from outside, and the location is good. Inside, though, the room smelled unpleasant and felt completely unventilated. The items were worn, and the cleaning seemed rushed. Checkout is listed as 10 and check-in as 15, so I assume there was time to clean before then, but we couldn't get into the room until 15:30. At the start, they also ask for a deposit of a few million extra in case you break anything, but that isn't mentioned upfront. I'm writing this so you know.

I liked the mini apartment, and it was clean, well equipped, and had everything I needed, including for cooking. The self check-in was really convenient, and when I asked questions on WhatsApp, the replies came quickly and were polite. One small suggestion: replace the old phone and leave an extra blanket for people like me who get cold easily.

The attic apartment got extremely hot, especially in July, because the air conditioning didn't work. We raised it with the hosts, but they offered only a fan, which didn't cool the room at all and just moved the hot air around. The listing had said there was air conditioning, so we felt misled. After making it through four days, I wouldn't come back, and I especially wouldn't recommend staying here in summer. Our stay at Villa Massari in Milan was a big disappointment.

The last night was the final straw: the air conditioning was switched off in the middle of the night without explanation. Across our four nights at Villa Massari, the place kept falling short of what had been advertised, and the lack of replies or help left us feeling cheated. The room's blinds didn't work, so it was fully lit at 7:00 AM and we couldn't get proper rest. The curtain meant to block the light was partly off its track, making things worse. Booking.com advertised a gym, sauna, and hydromassage shower. We couldn't use the sauna or hydromassage shower at all during our stay. The gym eventually opened, but wasn't ready when we arrived, so we had to wait a day. For the sauna, we were told it wasn't available on weekends, then got no response to requests during the week. We tried several times to ask for the sauna and hydromassage shower through the WhatsApp number provided, but were told it was the wrong number. After that, they stopped replying. We reported other apartment problems too, but our messages were just read and ignored, with no solution. Booking.com says support is available 24/7, which didn't match our experience. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a comfortable, hassle-free stay in Milan.
