Our rooms were a good size, and the location has plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. It took about 20 minutes to walk to Dumo. Before we arrived, the hotel communicated well by email and honored our request for two adjacent rooms. Check-out was easy, and they arranged a car to the airport when we asked. Check-in took a little while, though they upgraded our rooms based on our genius level on booking.com. It's far from the train station and not especially central.

The food left us feeling sick after both dinner and breakfast. It was the sort of meal that sat in your stomach like a brick, though the coffee was genuinely nice. The hallways also smelled stale and awful, like the carpets were always damp. Our spacious room looked as if it had been serviced, but it didn't feel clean. In the bathroom, I found what looked like blood splatters in the bidet and on the shower wall. When I raised it the next day, staff apologized but said it was dried soap. I can't prove otherwise, but I really doubt that explanation. We'd picked Milano Verticale for a large group of architects and designers because it looked well designed and had good reviews. At check-in, staff didn't have the updated Booking.com booking details and told our guests they weren't in the system, even though I had copies showing their names. The evening staff seemed uninterested in making a good first impression, and sorting it out took too long. They even assumed we were another group because we shared the same ethnic background, despite our names not being similar. It's a shame, since the location is good and the rooms are spacious. But I wouldn't come back. The place has potential, though it needs a thorough clean and a major improvement to the food.

The restaurant was STELLAR! I loved the room too, from its elegant, dynamic architecture to the surfaces, closets, and lighting. The bathroom and shower were exceptional. All of it made for a perfect space to stay in as a traveler.

It takes about 10 minutes by car to reach the Duomo, where there are good places to eat and walk around. The hotel itself is modern and clean, with a lovely design. The room and bathroom are spacious, and the toiletries are good quality. For a four-star place, it almost feels like five-star.
