Lovely.

The price was really fair, and I'd consider staying here again if I'm back in Milan. We spent one night here with a friend and felt at ease, thanks in part to the kind, helpful woman who welcomed us. The guest space is in an apartment, with a door and key separating the hallway, bedroom, and bathroom from the other rooms. Those areas were clean, tidy, and basic. We had towels and plenty of bathroom supplies, plus a mini-fridge, packaged pastries and biscuits, and a kettle with tea bags and instant coffee. Nothing fancy, but handy. The location is convenient, about a five-minute walk from the Circular Line stop (90/91).

If I could, I'd rate it minus five. In 19 years of traveling around the world, this was one of the worst places I've stayed, if not the worst. The microwave was rusty, covered in cobwebs, and full of burnt food scraps. The breakfast was hard to look at, with supermarket croissants in plastic wrappers and canned fruit. The cleanliness felt third-world, and then you also have to pay to use the kitchen, which just adds insult to injury. Go here for a horrifyingly squalid experience you'll struggle to forget.

The housekeeping was awful, with a lot of dirt around. There was dust and cobwebs, and two dogs and a cat wandered around the house even after I mentioned I'm allergic to dog hair. I also didn't like that the bedroom door wouldn't lock.
