We were really frightened when we returned and found signs that someone had broken into the apartment. The security box was open, as were our apartment door and the key drop box for checkout, which looked damaged. We tried contacting the host but got no reply, so we called the police and went to a hotel. Later that night the host finally sent a strange message saying we'd left very early, without addressing the break-in. We asked Booking for a refund for at least the hotel night we had to pay for, but got nothing. It was the worst experience ever!!!

After a long day we arrived late and found the code door open, with its light flashing red. The key mailbox in the vestibule was bent and open underneath, and the second door, which takes a regular key, was open too. We sent the host photos and tried calling and texting, but heard nothing. Police advised us to leave and notify the host, so shaken and scared, we went to a hotel in the middle of the night. Hours later, the host only texted as if nothing had happened, commenting that we'd checked out surprisingly early. I don't think anyone would have felt safe staying there overnight in those circumstances. Booking never told us about any steps taken and refused to refund the hotel night. There was no reaction from Booking to the break-in.

The linen was clean, but the sofa bed was extremely noisy and not suitable for adults. The shower drain was blocked. There was no kettle, and the cutlery was dirty. We were expected to wash the dishes ourselves, but there were no cloths or cleaning liquid.

The location was the one good part. The place hadn't been cleaned properly and the beds were uncomfortable. I also had to chase the owner several times, even after repeated requests, to get an invoice (fattura). They were very unfriendly and impolite, with no sense of business or customer service. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.
