Hotel Palladio

The service felt almost nonexistent. Reception is open limited hours, and the hotel's messages sounded more like warnings to a suspect than communication with a guest. They don't reply to messages through the booking platform, despite preferring that contact method. A friendlier tone would cost the owners nothing, and at checkout nobody even asked how the stay had been. I stayed Friday to Saturday for one night. The room was fairly spacious, the bed comfortable, and it had what I needed, including effective shutters. The street was quiet, so there was little noise, and the place exceeded my expectations as a basic, clean stay in a convenient part of Milan.

For a one-star hotel, Hotel Palladio had a lot on offer: A/C, TV, toiletries, towels, an expresso machine, courtesy water, good closets and extra bedding. The rooms were simple but had everything I needed, and the whole place was sparkling clean and organized. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I stayed three nights on my own and was very comfortable. It's inside the center circle, a 25 minute walk to the Duomo and just 2 minutes from neighborhood coffee cafes. Good value for Milano. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town.

The staff were nice and friendly, but the bar conditioners barely cooled either room, and both stayed hot. The rooms were small and okay, though a little disappointing. I was charged some weird fees because the rooms were close to each other. You can't buy drinks unless you have euros.

The parking was fine, but the area around the hotel isn't one of Milan's prettiest. Staff don't speak much English, so we had to use a translator to communicate. After one night we saw a bug on our pillow, and felt the room needed a deep clean for bed bugs.
