The staff were very attentive, and the porter came straight to help us from the entrance. The hotel is in a quiet building without the big entrance you'd expect at a typical hotel. It's a beautifully designed little boutique place in the middle of the fashion area. We'd hesitated after reading some of the reviews, but were pleasantly surprised to find that the negative feedback didn't match our experience. We'd definitely stay again.

I was promised a refund, then got completely ignored for a week. The hotel isn't staffed around the clock, and the cleaners and construction were both loud enough to ruin any chance of a holiday sleep-in. On arrival, there was no working lift and no hotel staff to help. The concierge doesn't work for the hotel, so hauling heavy luggage was difficult. The place is in major construction, which nobody told me about. The air conditioning didn't work, and the lights kept flashing, which was a serious problem for anyone with sensory issues. I heard a pile of lies, including that someone would come fix the AC, from the friendly international students working there. They seemed either afraid of their coercive boss or trained in a crash course on pleasing people 101. This was truly the Cecil hotel. A horror story. Don't give these people your money.

The room wasn't ready properly when we checked in. We got towels only on the second day, and they smelled bad. Random things were being kept in the room, which felt very strange and unprofessional. It was advertised as a renovated property, but there were obvious signs of wear, and it felt old. Our room was meant to be “deluxe,” though there was nothing deluxe about it. Dust was everywhere, on the surfaces and even blowing around whenever we moved a pillow or curtain. We were itchy all over and felt disgusted, anxious, and stressed. Ventilation throughout the property was very poor, and the AC didn't work properly, which made the dirt and dust even harder to deal with. This isn't really a hotel, despite being advertised as one and charged at high prices. It's an apartment split into rooms. The check-in before noon was chaotic and messy, a rough start to the trip. Overall, it wasn't worth it. Avoid if you can.

The rooms were uncomfortable, and the AC didn't work. The bathroom could use improvements too. It's in a great location, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful, but the place feels a bit sketchy. This isn't really a hotel, more like an Airbnb with a reception desk. There are definitely better places to stay.
