Hotel Windsor Milano

The reception staff came across as unfriendly, almost as if our stay was an inconvenience, and that’s why I’d take off a star. Everything else was amazing: an excellent restaurant, a great location, the best breakfast, and a really comfortable room. I’d definitely stay again and put up with the uppity concierge.

Our room was just the right size for two, and we appreciated the complimentary water. The hotel was clean, modern, and well furnished, with friendly staff. Breakfast was solid, with the usual continental selection you’d expect in a European city. The location worked well as a base for exploring. I’d recommend it to family and friends, and stay here again next time I’m in Milan.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, with room to move around and keep our things organised. The large, cosy bed was great, and the very big bathroom had two sinks and two shower heads. The shower door did leak and needs fixing. The air conditioning stayed very cold however we adjusted it, so it may not have been working properly. Breakfast was plentiful, especially the cakes, with lots of variety. Most staff were kind and helpful, though a few felt distant or less friendly. When we asked for an early breakfast box, they arranged it without a problem. It was quite basic, with water, juice, a packaged croissant, and packaged toast with jam and a small Nutella. It did the job, though fresh bread, cheese, or a little cake would have made it better. The hotel is in a safe, fairly quiet neighbourhood, about a 15-minute walk from both the central station and Garibaldi. The city centre takes around 20 minutes on foot.

The breakfast was fabulous, with a huge choice of fruit, yogurt, cereal, different kinds of eggs, meat, cheese, cakes, juice, tea, and coffee. The rooms are big, the bed is very comfy, and the bathroom is large with a powerful shower. There’s a TV and hairdryer too, though a few small updates are needed. The staff were lovely, and the restaurant served fab food. The location is good, with bars and restaurants around and the metro literally beside the hotel. It was a bit noisy, but we left the window open, so that’s to be expected.
