The hotel’s a little outside the centre, but public transport makes getting around easy, and the nearby station is handy for trips to the surrounding areas. There are authentic Italian restaurants close by and a very popular gelato shop right next door. Our room was neat, housekeeping immaculate, and room service excellent. The staff were friendly and professional, breakfast was delicious, and I’d definitely recommend the ginseng coffee. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and we left with lovely memories of the trip.

Parking came with an extra €20 a day, which the hotel didn’t make clear when claiming it was available. Breakfast was passable, but trays sat empty and refills came late, with little attention from staff. The location and rooms were somewhat decent, but the rest of the experience was a disaster, starting at reception. The young man who greeted us spoke barely understandable English and was shockingly hostile and aggressive in his manner. He didn’t show us to the room, so we wandered up and down twice before working it out ourselves. If someone dislikes having guests or tourists, hotel work may not be the right job for them. I usually leave positive, high-rated reviews because I want to encourage good service and help others find good places, but I can’t defend this experience. It was among the worst hotel stays I’ve had.

We left our room cards at reception while we went out, and our purse, which held all our currencies, was stolen. We were there for just one day. When we asked about the CCTV footage, they refused. The staff were rude and uncooperative, and we have also filed a police complaint. Tourists, please be careful. One of the worst hotels.

I stayed three weeks because the hotel was close to the university, but breakfast got repetitive fast. They served the same food for many days, with no variety, and it was only okay. The bigger problem was the constant confusion about prices. When my colleague checked out, they demanded an extra tax even though the booking confirmation email said it was included. They tried to charge me extra when I left too, so it felt like they were always looking for another way to get more money. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Room 510 was on the top floor, and the temperature got to 32 degrees. I asked the receptionist for help with the aircon, but he gave me a side eye and said it was off because it was 10 degrees outside. It was bloody 17 degrees. The place is old and not nice, and my room wasn’t clean. The older receptionist with glasses was rude. Public transport access is the only good thing about this hotel. Never coming back, and I have no idea who gave it 4 stars.
