The only good part was the clean, well-kept shared pool, looked after by the friendly lifeguard, Mr. Nino. We stayed in apartment no. 8, on the first floor to the left as you enter, managed by The Owners Company Toc Milazzo, from August 11, 2021, to August 22, 2021. We booked through Volagratis.it and paid the full €146 per day in advance, with no refund. Our experience was mostly negative. The owner and manager showed little understanding of hospitality, and the problems with the apartment were numerous. Although we’d given our arrival time, we waited 45 minutes outside in the heat after a 1200 km journey for the apartment to be handed over. We arrived by 8 pm as agreed. Arrivals after 8 pm incur a €25 penalty, rising to €50 after 10 pm. When collecting the keys, we were asked for another €159.00 for tourist tax and extra COVID-19 cleaning. Yet there was dust and cobwebs under the bed, including a bra, and the overall cleaning was very superficial. The electrical system was old and substandard, with exposed wires and no circuit breaker. A breakdown left us without electricity for 4 hours. In the bedroom, the furniture was unsafe: the wardrobe had no door and was covered by a curtain, and the headboard was broken. The kitchen furniture was old, the sink faucet had no aerator, and two of the four chairs were broken and unusable. After we complained, the chairs were replaced. All the fixtures, shutters included, were broken. The terrace couldn’t be used because a huge old crate or bench was being used to store building materials. The clothesline was broken, and the cracked bedroom door had been patched with "wood-look" adhesive. Wi-Fi never worked, and the advertised barbecue area didn’t exist.
